My name is Alex Gaidai [pronounced guy-dye]. In the picture above I’m with my beautiful wife and our three children. I was born in Ukraine, immigrated to United States with my parents 17 years ago and now live in Mount Vernon, Washington.

I currently work as a Sr. User Experience designer for Boeing, where I get to transform user research and feedback into hi-fi mockups that are handed over to the template team and subsequently to the devs.

I began designing in high school. Soon I found myself as a designer for my friend's startup, and not long after, a co-owner. I studied Multimedia and Interactive Technologies at Skagit Valley College. Although my professional responsibilities shifted and evolved over time, user experience was always at the core of my focus.

Philosophy

User experience design is much more than slick UI or a satisfied stakeholder. I believe it is a balanced cross-over of business and user goals. Good UX design is both art and science. It’s a complex process that requires deep understanding of human interaction with the modern world.

It goes beyond designing for a screen. At the end of the day, functional design should affect not just the user experience, but also “the bottom line”.
